Abstract
This study investigates the role of the National Sharia Council-Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI) in the formulation of Islamic banking policies in Indonesia. The National Sharia Council-Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI) is responsible for establishing Sharia guidelines that serve as the basis for Islamic banking policies and practices. The role of the National Sharia Council-Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI) encompasses various aspects of Islamic banking, playing a crucial role in providing legal certainty and serving as the foundation for the implementation of contracts in Islamic financial institutions. The fatwas issued by DSN-MUI become doctrines in both material interpretation and provide legal certainty for stakeholders. Furthermore, the fatwas of the National Sharia Council-Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI) influence policies governing Islamic banking, assisting Islamic financial institutions in operating in accordance with Sharia principles.
