Main Article Content
Abstract
The COVID-19 pandemic significantly disrupted global tourism, particularly affecting rural destinations reliant on both domestic and international visitors. This study examines the risks associated with the post-pandemic economic recovery of Terasering Panyaweuyan and Situ Cipanten in Majalengka Regency, Indonesia. Through a literature review approach, the research identifies key risks in three main categories: economic, environmental, and social. Economic risks include overdependence on tourism revenue, inflation, and declining visitor numbers due to emerging tourist destinations. Environmental risks involve soil erosion, water pollution, and ecological degradation caused by increased tourist activity. Social risks include both positive impacts, such as community empowerment, and negative effects, such as tensions between tourists and local residents. To address these challenges, the study proposes comprehensive risk mitigation strategies, including sustainable tourism management, enhanced digital marketing, community-based tourism initiatives, and crisis preparedness plans. The findings contribute to academic discourse on rural tourism resilience and offer practical recommendations for policymakers to ensure sustainable economic growth in the region.
